Abstract

ABSTRACT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE AND ADOLESCENT GIRLS' ATTITUDES TOWARD DYSMENORRHEA MANAGEMENT AT SMPN 1 SUKAHENING IN 2026 Background: Dysmenorrhea is a menstrual disorder frequently experienced by adolescent girls, which can disrupt learning activities if not properly managed. Adequate knowledge regarding reproductive health is crucial in shaping positive behavioral responses or attitudes toward menstrual pain management. Objective: To determine the relationship between knowledge and adolescent girls' attitudes toward dysmenorrhea management at SMPN 1 Sukahening in 2026. Methods: This study was a quantitative research utilizing an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. Samples were selected 73 respondents. Data collection was conducted using knowledge and attitude questionnaires. Data analysis involved univariate and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square statistical test. Results: Bivariate cross-tabulation indicated that most students with good knowledge showed positive attitudes (70.0%), whereas almost all students with poor knowledge showed negative attitudes (95.7%). The Chi-Square statistical test yielded a p-value of 0.000 (p-value < 0.05). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between knowledge and adolescent girls' attitudes toward dysmenorrhea management at SMPN 1 Sukahening in 2026. Better knowledge among adolescent girls corresponds to more positive attitudes in managing dysmenorrhea.
