dc.description.abstract ABSTRACT Background: Adolescence is an age group undergoing rapid physical, psychological, social, and emotional development, making them vulnerable to various psychological pressures. Conditions such as hormonal changes, academic demands, family conflicts, and social media usage can trigger stress and anxiety in adolescents. If left unmanaged, these issues can negatively impact mental health, academic performance, and trigger more severe psychological disorders. One structured and effective non-pharmacological psychological therapy to address this issue is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Objective: To identify and analyze research journals demonstrating the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in managing stress and anxiety among adolescents. Method: This study utilized a literature review design. The article search strategy employed the PICOS framework with a publication time limit within the last 10 years (2016–2026) across Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and ResearchGate databases. A rigorous selection process based on inclusion and exclusion criteria yielded 10 relevant journals to be analyzed. Data Analysis Results: The analysis of the 10 literature journals showed that the implementation of CBT interventions—whether conducted individually, in groups, or through digital/internet-based platforms—was proven to significantly reduce stress levels, anxiety symptoms, and depression in adolescents and freshman college students. Combined CBT techniques were also reported to successfully control academic stress, reduce exam anxiety, and improve concentration as well as adaptive coping skills. Conclusion: Based on the 10 analyzed journals, it can be concluded that the implementation of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is highly effective in helping manage and reduce stress and anxiety levels in adolescents. This literature review is expected to serve as a source of information, education, and scientific reference for healthcare providers, particularly nurses, in delivering non-pharmacological interventions to adolescents experiencing emotional disorders.
