dc.description.abstract ABSTRACT IMPLEMENTATION OF A COMBINATION OF STRETCHING ACTIVE AND BRISK WALKING IN NURSING CARE FOR MRS. E WITH HYPERTENSION TO REDUCE BLOOD PRESSURE IN CIDOLOG Hypertension is a non-communicable disease commonly known as the “silent killer” because it often occurs without specific symptoms but may lead to serious complications and death. Factors contributing to hypertension include age, sex, genetic predisposition, stress, unhealthy lifestyle, smoking habits, obesity, and physical inactivity. In addition to pharmacological treatment, hypertension management can also be carried out through non-pharmacological approaches, one of which is physical exercise in the form of a combination of active stretching and brisk walking exercise. This scientific paper aims to analyze the implementation of active stretching and brisk walking exercise as part of nursing care for patients with hypertension. The method used was a case study involving Mrs. E, who was diagnosed with hypertension in Cidolog District, Ciamis Regency, West Java. The intervention was conducted for four days within one week, with a duration of 20–30 minutes per session. Evaluation was performed by measuring blood pressure before and after the intervention. The results showed a reduction in blood pressure from 168/90 mmHg to 135/91 mmHg following the intervention. These findings indicate that a combination of active stretching and brisk walking exercise can serve as an effective non-pharmacological intervention for controlling blood pressure in patients with hypertension. Therefore, this exercise may be recommended as part of nursing care to improve selfmanagement among patients with hypertension.
