Abstract:
History lessons in schools are not only intended to provide students with knowledge, but also to raise their
awareness of historical events as citizens and members of society. This study aims to describe the biography,
struggle values, and the use of K.H. Ruhiat’s values in history learning for eleventh-grade students at SMA
Terpadu Manahijul Huda. K.H. Ruhiat, founder of Pondok Pesantren Cipasung, played a significant role in
education and resistance against Dutch colonialism during the nationalist movement and independence era
(1930–1949). The values explored include courage, discipline, responsibility, religiosity, and nationalism. This
research applied a qualitative approach with observation, interviews, and documentation. Primary data were
collected from the school principal, vice principal of curriculum, history teacher, and students, while secondary
data were drawn from books, articles, lesson documents, and prior studies. Data were analyzed through
reduction, presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification using source triangulation. The findings reveal that
K.H. Ruhiat’s values were integrated into history learning by linking local history to the proclamation of
independence through a Project-Based Learning (PBL) model combined with Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
This approach enhanced students’ understanding, nurtured patriotism, strengthened character based on local
culture, encouraged active participation, and promoted teacher creativity.
