Abstract:
This study aims to examine the revitalization efforts of calung art through the role of Sunda art
enthusiast communities in Ciamis Regency. Calung art has experienced a decline in interest,
particularly among the younger generation, due to modernization and cultural value shifts. This
research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, utilizing in-depth
interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis as data collection techniques. The
findings reveal that art enthusiast communities play a crucial role in preserving calung through
routine activities, education, and the use of digital technology for promotion. However,
challenges such as the lack of youth interest and limited government support remain significant
obstacles. The study suggests strengthening collaboration between art communities, the
government, and educational institutions to enhance the effectiveness of revitalization efforts.
