Along with technological advances in banking, there has also been an increase in the number of crimes within the banking sector. Financial institutions are highly vulnerable to being used as vehicles for money laundering and terrorism financing. This research was conducted at Bank Rakyat Indonesia, a state-owned bank, in Majalengka Regency. The focus of this research was the implementation of fraud awareness in digital banking transactions in accordance with Financial Services Authority Regulation Number 8 of 2023 in Majalengka Regency. The objectives of this study are: 1) To analyze how regulatory provisions govern digital banking service mechanisms. 2) To analyze the effectiveness of the early warning systems employed by the government and banks in controlling digital banking services. 3) To analyze the extent to which fraud/risk awareness is implemented as an effort to prevent banking crimes by both customers and the government.
The type of research used in this paper employs a descriptive analytical method based on qualitative and quantitative data approaches. The approaches used in this research are a conceptual approach and a statutory regulatory approach.
The results of this study are: 1) BRI Units in the Majalengka Regency area consisting of the Majalengka Wetan Unit, Talaga Unit and Tarikolot Unit in the digital banking service mechanism always comply with existing regulations based on the Financial Services Authority Regulation (POJK) Number 21 of 2023 and the Financial Services Authority Regulation (POJK) Number 21 of 2023. 2) The implementation of the Early Warning System which has long been carried out by Bank BRI, especially in the Majalengka Regency Unit area, is very effective. 3) In implementing Fraud Awareness as an effort to avoid crime, the BRI Majalengka Regency Unit has carried out in accordance with existing regulations based on the Financial Services Authority Regulation Number 12 of 2024.
