Abstract:
ANALYSIS OF THE INSTALLATION OF CAMPAIGN PROMOTION EQUIPMENT FOR REGENT AND VICE REGENT CANDIDATES OF GARUT REGENCY BASED ON ARTICLE 65 OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA GENERAL ELECTION COMMISSION REGULATION NUMBER 13 OF 2024

Political Parties as election participants also have routine activities aimed at convincing voters by offering visions, missions, and programs of election participants, namely through Election Campaigns. What is meant by Campaign Props are all objects or other forms containing visions, missions, programs, and/or other information installed for the purposes of the Election Campaign
which aims to invite people to vote for Election Participants and/or certain candidates for DPR, DPD and DPRD members. The installation of campaign props placed in Government areas, places of Worship, and places of Education occurred in the Garut Regency area, when viewed from the campaign regulations, the placement of the campaign props violates Article 65 of the Regulation of the General Election Commission of the Republic of Indonesia Number 13 of 2024 concerning the Campaign for the Election of Governors and Deputy Governors, Regents and Deputy Regents, and Mayors and Deputy Mayors. Therefore, the formulation of the problem is how is the installation of campaign props for candidates for Regent and Deputy Regent in Garut Regency based on Article 65 of the Regulation of the General Election Commission of the Republic of Indonesia Number 13 of 2024 concerning the Campaign for the Election of Governors and Deputy Governors, Regents and Deputy Regents, and Mayors and Deputy Mayors?
The research method is normative juridical by examining statutory regulations, legal principles, legal systematics relating to defamation on social media and then analyzed using various legal theories.
The results of the study indicate that the installation of campaign props for the Regent and Deputy Regent Candidates in Garut Regency has not been implemented. Regarding these violations, the Garut Regency General Election Supervisory Body should coordinate with the District General Election Supervisory Committee to follow up on reports of alleged election crimes. Then based on Article 455 Paragraph (1) letter c of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning
General Elections, the District General Election Supervisory Committee forwards the report to the Garut Regency Civil Service Police Unit because the violation also violates Article 6 paragraph (2) letter i of Garut Regency Regional Regulation Number 12 of 2015 concerning Order, Cleanliness and Beauty.
