Abstract:
This study aims to find out and understand the history of the dokdak village as well as the values of
local wisdom of the people of the dokdak village based on the Galuh culture. The research method
used is a qualitative method, with an ethnographic design, through the stages of 1) Determining
informants, 2) Conducting interviews with informants, 3) Making ethnographic notes, 4) Asking
descriptive questions, 5) Conducting ethnographic interview analysis, 6) Making domain analysis , 7)
Asking structural questions which is an advanced stage after identifying the domain, 8) Making
taxonomic analysis, 9) Asking contrast questions where the meaning of a symbol is believed to be
found by finding out how a symbol differs from other symbols, 10) Making component analysis , 11)
Finding cultural themes, 12) Writing an ethnography. Data collection techniques used are observation,
interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the dokdak village has existed for
decades, so in addition to having local wisdom values, this village has historical value. The local
wisdom values of the dokdak village community are the values of simplicity, the value of
togetherness, the value of cooperation/gotong royong, the value of independence, the value of
responsibility, the value of hard work, the value of creativity, and the value of being consistent and
principled. Local wisdom values based on Galuh culture from the dokdak village community can be
seen from the livelihoods carried out by the surrounding community and the technology used.
