Abstract

Sustainable care in pregnant women is very important considering that the role of Midwives include preventing or early detection of emergency problems in pregnant women, maternity, postpartum and newborns, from that the authors assume that comprehensive care in pregnant women, maternity, postpartum and newborns is very important to be done by midwives, because in addition to early detection of emergency that can provide optimal care for patients and patients can get care according to patient needs. Pregnancy is a change in order to continue the descent that occurs naturally, resulting in a fetus that grows in the mother's womb (Prawirohardjo, 2018). Pregnancy is started from conception (the meeting of the egg with sperm) and ends with the onset of Labor (Maryunani, 2016). The gestation period begins from conception to the birth of the fetus. The normal duration of pregnancy is 280 days (40 weeks or nine months 7 days) counted from the first day of the last menstruation. (Wiknjosastro, 2014). Childbirth is a process in which the baby, placenta and amniotic membranes come out of the mother's uterus. Childbirth is the physiological process that a woman will go through to expel the living result of conception from the uterus. Meanwhile, according to Wiknjosastro (2014) childbirth is a process of discharge of conception that can live from the uterus through the vagina to the outside world. After the mother gave birth and then continued with newborn care, which began after the baby was born early initiation of breastfeeding for one hour and then continued with newborn care by doing anthrophometry, giving vitanin K injections and giving eye salf as well as giving hb0 immunization and hypothyroid screening examination. During this time, the baby should be kept warm and this is done until the baby is 42 days old. Normal delivery is the birth of a premature baby with a natural vaginal process and without complications. Meanwhile, according to Endjun (2019), normal labor is all labor that occurs spontaneously, at the age of 37-42 complete weeks, lasting less than 24 hours (18-24 hours), mother and baby are in good health, before, during, and after Labor. The stages of Labor occur based on several processes until the last in the puerperium where the puerperium itself is the puerperium (puerperium) begins after the birth of the placenta and ends when the intrauterine devices return to the state before pregnancy. The puerperium lasts for about 6 weeks. The puerperium or puerperium period is the period after parturition is complete and ends after about 6 weeks. This continuous midwifery care lasts until the mother finishes the puerperium, which is after 6 weeks and ends with the provision of family planning both to plan the next delivery and to end the delivery period
