HUBUNGAN KEPATUHAN KONSUMSI TABLET FE DENGAN KEJADIAN ANEMIA PADA IBU HAMIL TRIMESTER III DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS PANJALU

Abstract

Background : Pregnancy is a physiological process that increases the need for iron. Iron is important in the formation of hemoglobin, and its deficiency can cause anemia. Anemia in pregnant women has a negative impact on both the mother and the fetus. Non-compliance in consuming Fe tablets is a major risk factor for anemia during pregnancy and needs serious attention. Objective : This study aims to determine the relationship between compliance with Fe tablet consumption and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the third trimester in the Panjalu Community Health Center Working Area. Method : This study is a descriptive quantitative correlational study using a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was total sampling with 62 respondents. The data collection technique used a questionnaire on compliance with Fe tablet consumption and hemoglobin level checks using a hemoglobinmeter. Data analysis techniques using the Spearman Rank statistical test. Research Results : This study shows a strong negative relationship between compliance in consuming iron tablets and the incidence of anemia in third-trimester pregnant women in the working area of Panjalu Health Center, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). This relationship is reinforced by a correlation value of -0.734, which is categorized as strong (0.60-0.799). Recommendation: The importance of structured educational interventions, family support, and the active role of healthcare workers in increasing mothers' compliance with iron supplement consumption during pregnancy to reduce the incidence of anemia.
