Abstract:
This research is motivated by the suboptimal collaboration between the Village Government and the Community in developing Mangrove Education Tourism in Babakan Village, Pangandaran District, Pangandaran Regency. This is indicated by issues related to limited village budget for supporting the procurement of facilities and infrastructure for meeting places, providing educational information about mangroves, a lack of community participation in managing mangrove education tourism, and a lack of innovation from managers in developing mangrove education tourism. The purpose of this study is to understand the collaboration between the Village Government and the Community in developing Mangrove Education Tourism in Babakan Village, Pangandaran District, Pangandaran Regency. The method used in this research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data sources include primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques involve literature review, structured interviews, and observation. The results show that the collaboration between the Village Government and the Community in developing Mangrove Education Tourism in Babakan Village, Pangandaran District, Pangandaran Regency has not been optimally implemented. The obstacles faced include limited time and resources for intensive and equitable communication and mentorship, complex information that is difficult to understand which erodes trust and reduces common understanding. Differences in priorities and "participation fatigue" also hinder consistent commitment. Efforts made include simplifying information and using engaging visual/digital media, forming more informal and safe discussion forums to encourage expressing opinions, and allocating more adequate resources for sustainable development programs.
