A key component of learning English as a second language is expanding one’s vocabulary. Students are frequently disengaged by traditional teaching methods, which lowers their motivation and interest in learning new words. Conducted in a high school in Ciamis, Indonesia, this study used a qualitative case study approach through classroom observations and interviews. This study aims to determine how much online cartoon videos help students become more motivated to learn new words and how they react to the use of this type of media. The findings showed that watching youtube animated video significantly increased students' motivation and excitement for vocabulary acquisition. Students gave positive answers, saying that the medium improved the interest, enjoyment, and comprehension of the material. Their vocabulary recall was further enhanced by the videos' distinct visual and aural components. Youtube animated video have proven to be an engaging and useful tool for vocabulary development, offering educational benefits and a fun learning environment. |
