dc.description.abstract Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the significant difference in persuasive writing achievement between the students who were treated using internet meme pictures and those who were not in the eleven grade students at a high school in Cilacap, Central Java. The present study used true experimental study involving 40 students of XI MIPA 1 and XI MIPA 2. Regarding the data collection, a pre-test and post-test of writing was administered to both experimental and control group. The data were processed using Paired Sample t-test and Independent Sample t-test in SPSS version 35. The results of Paired Sample t-test revealed that there was a significant difference in Persuasive Writing achievement for both students who were taught using the internet Meme Pictures (experimental) and those who were not (control). The result from the dependent Sample t-test of the post-test in both experimental and control groups revealed that the P-value of both of Paired Sample t-test and Independent Sample t-test were lower than 0.05 (0.000 < .05). This indicated that there was not significant differences between students’ persuasive writing achievement who are taught by internet meme picture (experimental group) and descriptive text (control group). This means that both media used by experimental and control group have improved students’ persuasive writing achievement. Thus, internet meme picture is as effective as descriptive text to improve students’ persuasive writing achievement en_US
