ABSTRACT
In 2017 it is estimated that around 85,000 mothers in Asia die from complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. Preeclampsia is one of the biggest contributors to mortality after 13%.This study was conducted to determine the relation of preeclampsia with the incidence of low birth weight in the Regional Public Service Agency Banjar City General Hospital in 2019. This study used a cross sectional study design. The sample used was 56 samples of mothers giving birth at the Regional Public Service Agency of the Banjar City General Hospital which was taken by accidental sampling technique. The sample data obtained was then analyzed by chi square test with SPSS application.Out of 56 samples 42 mothers who had preeclampsia gave birth to 92.9% LBW, 4.8% LBW, 2.4% BBLER and 14 mothers without preeclampsia gave birth to 71.4% LBW, 7.1% LBW, 21.4% BBLER. The results of the statistical test between preeclampsia and the incidence of low birth weight babies is p value of 0.050. There is no significant relationship between preeclampsia and the incidence of low birth weight babies at the Regional Public Service Agency in the Banjar City General Hospital.
