Abstract:
The government holds a national examination as a form of evaluation. The national exam is a benchmark for students' abilities in various subjects. Anxiety in facing the national exam itself is one of the psychological problems that is often experienced by students. students experience anxiety if they are not able to reach the specified graduation standard. The method in this study is descriptive. The population in this study were all students of class XII at SMPN 4 Banjarsari in 2019 as many as 102 people. Sampling in this study used a purposive sample so that the number of samples obtained was 56 people. The results showed that an overview of the anxiety level of Banjarsari 4 Public High School students who would face the National Examination in 2019, most respondents in the category of moderate anxiety were 34 people (60.7%), almost half of the respondents were mild anxiety as many as 12 people (21.4%) , a small proportion of respondents categorized as no anxiety as much as 5 (8.9%), a small proportion of respondents categorized as severe anxiety were 4 people (7.1%) and a small percentage of respondents were panic as many as 1 person (1.8%). Suggestions are expected for students to be more cooperative in filling out questionnaires provided by researchers so that they get the correct results. Train yourself to prepare for the national exam by repeating the lessons the teacher has given at school.
