This study aimed to investigate: 1). exploring students’ experiences on
learning speaking through YouTube. 2). finding out students’ perceptions of
learning speaking through YouTube. This study was conducted using the
qualitative method with a case study approach. The instruments used in this study
are interviews and questionnaires. The researcher used triangulation data analysis
to analyze the data collected from interviews to answer RQ 1 and questionnaires
to answer RQ 2. The participants in this study were 6 students of one of the
senior high schools in Ciamis. The results of this study show that most of the
students felt enthusiastic and comfortable with this learning method, they felt an
improvement in speaking English. The students stated that their experience in
using YouTube as a learning medium can be a good solution to improve their
speaking quality and have a positive impact on their learning development
process. In addition, YouTube increased students' vocabulary and motivated
students to learn more about English. Based on the findings, it was established
that the majority of students gave positive feedback to YouTube as a learning
media, YouTube can be used as an alternative way to learn speaking. In addition,
Instagram Reels can help teachers use different teaching methods in the
classroom. |
