Abstract:
Obesity is the accumulation of excess fat in the body due to an imbalance between
energy intake and energy expended over a long period of time. One of the factors
that can increase the risk of obesity is by consuming Junk Food. This research is a
type of quantitative research through a cross sectional approach, a sample of 86
respondents.The data collection techniques used were FFQ (Food Frequency
Questionnaire) questionnaire and BMI (Body Mass Index) measurement.The
results of the study showed that there was a relationship between the habit of
consuming Junk Food and the incidence of obesity in adolescents at SMAN 3
Ciamis (α < p value = 0.05 < 0.000).The conclusions of this study are; (1). Most
teenagers at SMAN 3 Ciamis are used to consuming Junk Food , namely a number
of (51%) respondents; (2). Most of the adolescents in SMAN 3 Ciamis are not obese,
namely a number of (50.5%) respondents; (3). There is a relationship between the
habit of consuming Junk Food and the incidence of obesity in adolescents at SMAN
3 Ciamis.Advice is expected to provide information for adolescents, especially
about the impact of the habit of consuming Junk Food that can cause obesity.
