Abstract:
This study investigates the use of the Daily Activities Handbook as a tool for enhancing vocabulary learning. It is set within a specific educational context involving tenth-grade students at a Senior High School, comprising a total of twenty students. The primary objective of this research is to assess the impact of integrating a handbook with daily activities on the vocabulary mastery of these students. The participants in the study are tenth-grade students from the Senior High School, with a composition of eleven male students and nineteen female students. The study employs a qualitative case study approach to explore how teachers utilize the Daily Activities Handbook to support and improve students' vocabulary skills during English lessons. Data analysis was conducted to determine the effectiveness of this handbook in helping students enhance their vocabulary. The analysis revealed that students hold a positive perception of the handbook’s role in boosting their vocabulary skills. The findings also highlight that the implementation of the handbook by teachers significantly contributes to improving vocabulary skills among the tenth-grade students at MAN in Ciamis. The results of this research are valuable for professionals in the field of education, as they underscore the potential benefits of incorporating similar materials into language programs. They also suggest the creation of communities of practice centred around effective and engaging vocabulary teaching methods. This research offers insights that can assist educators in refining their teaching strategies, ultimately leading to a more engaging and effective learning experience for students. By integrating such tools, educators can foster better vocabulary acquisition and improve overall language proficiency among their students.
