CORRELATION BETWEEN MOTHER’S KNOWLEDGE ABOUT BASIC IMMUNIZATION AND COMPLETENESS OF BASIC IMMUNIZATION IN WORKING AREA PUSKESMAS LELES KABUPATEN GARUT

ABSTRACT
Immunization is an effort to actively create/increase a person's immunity against a disease. Based on the WHO report, there are 20 million children who do not receive immunization services for toddlers throughout the world routinely every year, data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health states that the achievement of complete basic immunization is 33.4%, the achievement of basic immunization in West Java province is 87, 4%, Kabupaten Garut complete basic immunization achievement is 70.2%, Puskesmas Leles is ranked in the top 5 worst achievements in Kabupaten Garut at 69.9%.
This research aims to find out how the mother's knowledge about basic immunization is related to the completeness of basic immunization in the work area of Puskesmas Leles, Kabupaten Garut. The method used in this research is a quantitative research method, this research uses a descriptive correlation research type with a cross-sectional approach. The population is all mothers who have babies aged 9-10 months in Puskesmas Leles working area, totaling 822 people with a sample size of 100 respondents using purposive sampling who meet the inclusion criteria. The independent variable is the mother's knowledge about basic immunization and completeness of basic immunization is the dependent variable. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using the chi-square test with a significance level of α = 0.05.
The results of the research show that there is a significant correlation between maternal knowledge about basic immunization and the completeness of basic immunization in the work area of the UPT Puskesmas Leles, Kabupaten Garut with a p-value = 0.000.
It is hoped that the results of this research can provide input for medical personnel, especially at Puskesmas Leles, so that they can increase socialization regarding basic immunization, so that they can further improve the results of achieving complete basic immunization in working area of Puskesmas Leles Kabupaten Garut.
