KULTUR STEM CELL SEBAGAI TERAPI SEL PENYAKIT DIABETES MELITUS (DM)

Abstract

Culturing stem cells in cell therapy of diabetes mellitus is an effort in the management of diabetes mellitus with use of cell replacement therapy. Transplant using stem cells give hope for a permanent cure of diabetes mellitus is mainly due to destruction of pancreatic beta cells. Steps that must be done in the process of differentiation of stem cells into pancreatic beta cells includes the step change stem cells into cells making up the structure of the islets of Langerhans (isletneogenesis stage), and the phase of the cell changes so isletmen pancreatic beta cells (beta cells neogenesis). Laboratory testing includes analysis of the ability of pancreatic beta cells, testing the ability of insulin gene expression, immunological tests and the benefits and efficiency of therapeutic outcomes.
