Abstract:
This research was investigated the teacher’s perception of using Canva
Application in teaching creative writing in an Islamic Senior High School in
Ciamis. The purposes of this research were to observe how the teacher uses Canva
Application to teach creative writing and to identify the teacher’s perception of
using Canva Application to teach creative writing. A case study design was used
in this research. By using purposive sampling technique, the writer took an
English teacher in an Islamic Senior High School in Ciamis as the participant of
the research. The writer constructed the research instruments consisting of the
observation and the interview. The writer used two data analysis techniques
including the conversational analysis and the triangulation analysis to analyze the
data. The findings indicated that the teacher used seven steps to use Canva
Application in teaching creative writing. It also indicated that the teacher
perceived positively on the use of Canva Application in teaching creative writing
because it was beneficial for both the teachers and the students. Based on the
conclusions, the teachers are expected to use Canva Application as one of
technology media in teaching creative writing. Besides that, the use of Canva
Application is expected to solve the students’ difficulties in learning creative
writing. In addition, the result of this research can be used as a reference for
further writers and those who are interested in conducting the research with a similar topic.
