ABSTRACT
The research reported in this paper focuses on the issues of students' difficulties in
writing recount text. because today's era is very modern and everything is
sophisticated, of course, students should be able to write recount text. but in fact
they are difficult to write recount text. Therefore, the teacher must be able to
create a comfortable atmosphere so that students feel focused on learning in order
to be able to improve student skills. This study was conducted to determine the
EFL strategies of Islamic Junior High School students needed in compiling
recount texts and students' difficulties in writing recount texts. Case study
methodology was used in this study, and data were collected through classroom
observation and purposive sampling interviews. The subjects of this study were
eighth grade students at Islamic Junior High School. This study found students
who were not focused when learning so that it was easier for them to do
assignments because many students look unenthusiastic and pay less attention.
Based on the results of the study, it can be said that students who are not able to
focus when studying in an effective class even though it is difficult to manage
students. for suggestions related to this research the teacher must be able to create
a fresh atmosphere in teaching and learning activities in the classroom that will
arouse students' interest in learning, especially in learning English which
incidentally is a foreign language for students in Indonesia.
