Abstract:
This present study aimed to investigate the used of digital storytelling to enhance
students’ motivation in learning vocabulary and analyze the students’ perception
of the use of digital storytelling in enhancing their motivation in learning
vocabulary. This qualitative case study research was conducted in one of the
Junior High Schools in Ciamis. It was conducted in one of Junior High School in
Ciamis. This study involved a ninth-grader consist of fifteen students in academic
years 2021/2022. The data were collected using classroom observation, semi-
structural interview, and a closed-ended questionnaire. The researcher transcribed,
coded, and summarized the data with triangulation data analysis technique. The
research finding showed that digital storytelling can enhance students’ motivation
in learning vocabulary. This media interested for students to learn vocabulary
because integrated with the story, video, and music. Further, the students felt that
useful media in learning English vocabulary. Finally, the students gave a positive
perception of the use of digital storytelling in learning vocabulary.
