ABSTRACT
Patients with stroke will usually face a number of problems that include physical,
social, emotional, psychological, and spiritual aspects (Chau et al., 2010;
Edwards, Hahn, Baum, & Dromerick, 2006; Hoffmann, Case, Hoffmann, & Chen.
, 2010; Lamb, Buchanan, Godfrey, Harrison, & Oakley, 2008). The purpose of
this study was to determine the effectiveness of Health Education regarding the
care of stroke patients at stroke homes in the families of patients in Ciamis
Regency in 2020. This study used an experimental method with a control group
approach with the population of this study being the families of Stroke patients
who were treated in Kawali Ciamis District during 2020 to March 2020, as many
as 573 people. Determination of the sample using consecutive sampling and
obtained as many as 36 people. The results showed that more than the majority of
respondents in the control group (50.0%) and 6 people had sufficient knowledge
(33.3%). In the intervention group, the postest data showed that 12 respondents
had good knowledge (66.7%). Health Education regarding the implementation of
care for stroke patients at home in the families of patients in Kawali District,
Ciamis Regency in 2020, aim at a p value of 0.04. It is recommended that
respondents, who still have less knowledge, can increase their knowledge by
actively seeking information.
