ABSTRACT
According to the monthly report for the UPTD Work Area at the Sukarame Health
Center, Tasikmalaya Regency, the number of gastritis clients during the last 3 months of
2019, from January to March, shows the incidence rate continues to increase. In January
the number of gastritis clients was 452 with 176 new clients and 276 old clients, then in
February it increased again to 514 clients with 204 new clients and 310 old clients, while
in March it increased again with the incidence rate. 548 clients with 213 new clients and
335 old clients.Based on the background description of the problem above, the
researchers formulated the following problems: "Is there a relationship between diet and
gastritis in adolescents in the Work Area of the UPTD Puskesmas Sukarame,
Tasikmalaya Regency?" and This study aims to determine the relationship between diet
and the incidence of gastritis in adolescents in the UPTD Sukarame Public Health
Center, Tasikmalaya Regency.The method used is descriptive correlational method. The
total population was 40 gastritis in adolescents in the Work Area of the UPTD Puskesmas
Sukarame, Tasikmalaya Regency and the samples were all populations. The research
data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test.The results showed that the statistical test
using the Spearman rank test showed that the p value obtained was 0,000, when
compared with the α value (0.05), the p value was smaller than the α value (0,000 <0.05),
then H0 rejected, which means that there is a relationship between diet and gastritis in
adolescents in the Work Area of the UPTD Puskesmas, Sukarame District, Tasikmalaya
District in 2020, and it is suggested that they should further increase their knowledge,
especially regarding diet, both through socialization to schools, trainings for adolescents
and other media so as to improve health, especially a regular, nutritious and healthy diet.
