dc.description.abstract English is a foreign language that has been taught from elementary school to lectures. The purpose of teaching English in junior high school is so that students are able to recognize word structures well. In this paper, researchers was focus on examining the research problem about the student’s engagement in the online classroom during a pandemic situation and more specifically on descriptive text lessons. And this study also investigates how teacher use Google Classroom in teaching. This study aimed to investigates the effect of using google classroom on student’s engagement in learning during this pandemic. The participant in this paper is an English teacher at junior high school in Ciamis. This research approach is qualitative. Case studies are used as instruments to collect the data. This study was used a qualitative descriptive analysis methodology which has three ways there are data reuction, data display, conclusion and verification. Complete data obtained by the data collection process then the data must be analyzed and interpreted. To get the data, the researcher used observation and in-depth interview. Based on the research that has been done, the effect of using google classroom of this junior high school is not too influential on the learning process. This is because there are many students who cannot access the internet because of the network conditions where they live. So, the English teachers use other platforms as a tool to help the teaching and learning process of their students so that they can continue to follow the lesson.
