Abstract

ABSTRACT THE RELATIONSHIP OF FAMILY SUPPORT WITH THE LEVEL OF ACTIVENESS OF THE ELDERLY FOLLOWING THE ELDERLY POSYANDU IN THE KARANGSARI ELDERLY POSYANDU REGION RW 11, MALEBER VILLAGE, CIAMIS DISTRICT, 2020 As a person ages, it is desirable to be healthy in old age, therefore older people who expect to be healthy in old age should be active in participating in other activities. There are many things that should be done, namely simply gathering with the community at the Posyandu for the elderly. In real conditions, not all elderly are actively participating in elderly Posyandu activities. Inactivity of the elderly in participating in the elderly Posyandu activities include the lack of family support. Family support is the attitude of one's actions to family members in the form of information support, instrumental support, emotional support, and appreciation support. This study aims to determine the relationship of family support with the level of activeness of the elderly following the elderly posyandu in the Karangsari Elderly Posyandu Region RW 11, Maleber Village, Ciamis District, 2020. The method used in this study was descriptive correlational with a cross sectional study design. A sample of 98 elderly people aged ≥ 60 years. The sampling technique used in this study is total sampling. Bivariate analysis in this study uses the Kendall Tau correlation analysis method. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between family support and the level of activeness of the elderly following the elderly Posyandu in the Karangsari Elderly Posyandu Region RW 11, Maleber Village, Ciamis District, 2020 because of the α> ρ value (0.05> 0,001). This research can be used as input for the importance of family support for the activeness of the elderly in participating in the posyandu for the elderly, so that the family knows to what extent the family can be a support for improving the health of the elderly.
