ABSTRACT
THE RELATION OF PARENT PATTERNS WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF PRE-SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN IN THE KAWALI MUKTI VILLAGE AREA, CIAMIS DISTRICT 2020

Parents are the main teachers for their children, therefore parents are the central center that becomes the spotlight in child development, both physical and psychological development and it must be considered by every parent as an effort to develop a whole human being. There are 3 types of parenting, namely: authoritative, authoritarian and primitive. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between parenting styles and the development of preschool children in Kawali Mukti Village, Ciamis Regency. This study uses a descriptive analytic research method with a cross sectional approach. Based on the results of research conducted in Kawali Mukti Village, to 95 respondents and a discussion of the relationship between parenting and the development of preschool-aged children in Kawali Mukti Village, Ciamis Regency, the researchers can draw the following conclusions: Most of them use Authoritative parenting as many as 84 parents (88.4%) and very few parents used authoritarian parenting, namely 8 parents (8.4%) and 3 primitive parents (3.2%). Most of the development was in accordance with the stage of development, namely as many as 51 children (53.7%), a small part of the development was doubtful, namely as many as 36 children (37.9%) and a small part of the development was deviant, namely as many as 8 children (8.4%). The results of statistical tests show that the p value = 0.041 (<α = 0.05) means that there is a relationship between parenting styles and the development of preschool children in Kawali Mukti Village, Ciamis Regency.
