ABSTRACT
This research is aimed to describe the senior high school teachers’ difficulties in implementing the assessment within Curriculum 2013 is viewed from the learning activity in English lesson. The study was descriptive research by means of qualitative data gathering. The data of senior high school teachers’ difficulties in implementing the assessment within the Curriculum 2013 were gathered by interviews. The data source was one of senior high school in Tasikmalaya regency. The data analysis was conducted by interviewing the teachers of SMK Nurul Wafa who implemented the Curricullum 2013. The results of the study showed that in the assessment implementation of Curriculum 2013 the teachers had not fully understand the assessment system. The teachers’ difficulties were also found in developing the instrument of attitude, implementing the authentic assessment, formulating the indicators, designing the assessment rubric for the skills, and gathering the scores from multiple measurement techniques. In addition, the teachers could not find feasible application for describing the students’ learning achievements. The conclusion of the study showed that the teacher thought that curriculum 2013 stil become the complicated curriculum and it was confusing because the curriculum is a short-implemented, the teacher’s difficulties are found in the process of making the instrument of assessment and the process of student scoring, and the teachers used pair assessment in scoring process. The writer suggests the boards of english educational practitioners could take the advantage of this research and the readers are being critical readers. The writer hope that this study is benefical to add knowledge of the speakers to apply the educational system.
