This paper deals with the implementation scientific approach in teaching English based on 2013 curriculum to the students of a vocational school in Karangnunggal, Tasikmalaya. Meanwhile, the purposes of the study were to find out the teacher way in using scientific approach in teaching English based on 2013 curriculum, and to describe the perceptions of the teacher toward learning English by using scientific approach. A case study was applied as the research design. The data were gained from online observation and interview. Direct online observation were done to see the activities conducted by English teacher in the classroom. Then, the writer interviewed the English teacher to know the extent to which the implementation of Scientific approach in teaching and learning processes. The findings showed that, first, the teacher has implemented curriculum 2013 in learning process. Second, the writer found that according to the teacher responses, the curriculum 2013 is good curriculum. In conclusion, teacher have implemented the 2013 curriculum in teaching English. It was found the 2013 curriculum is not only a good curriculum, it can also create students active learning. Suggestion based on research result, the English Teacher should choose an appropriate strategy for their activities. Teacher must also understand correctly the learning process supported by scientific approach based on the curriculum and standard operational of teaching media. The teachers should be able to create a comfort situation, an active learners, good communication, cooperations and an active students atmosphere in teaching and learning process. Furthermore, teachers should find the right strategy to implement scientific approach in teaching process. |
