Abstract:
This study deals with an investigation of E-portfolio based assessment on Edmodo in writing recount text. The objective of this study was aimed to figuring out how the teacher implement E-portfolio based assessment on Edmodo in writing recount text and to investigate how the student perceive the use of E-portfolio based assessment on Edmodo in writing recount text. The present study used qualitative case study design.Itusedtriangulationdata techniques:observation,interview,andquestionnaire. In this regard the participants in this study were the tenth grade at one of vocational high school and an English teacher. To analyse the observation data and interview, the writer first transcribed and the questionnaire data was analyse using likert scale measurement. In the finding of this study, referring from the classroom observation and interview, the writer concludes the use of E-portfolio can motivate students in learning activities, enhance students how to write properly and effectively. Then, based on the data from questionnaire, it shows that most of students gave positive perception on the use of E-portfolio based assessment on Edmodo in writing recount text can make the students enthusiastic and comfortable to learn writing recount text and improve their motivations and abilities in writing recount text. Finally, future writers are recommended to conduct the research with the same topic quantitatively to strengthen the finding of this study.
