Abstract:
This paper report on student’s perception about the effect of the habit of listening English song toward their listening comprehension achievement. The students’ perception in the present study was reviewed from student’s habit in listening to English song outside teaching learning process. This study used qualitative design in which a survey study was captured in gaining the data. The data were obtained through two data collection technique, it was questionnaire and interview. This study took place at one of vocational school in Tasikmalaya. The participants of this study were 231students. The result of the present study indicated that the habit of listening to English song in the research site determined showed positive effect. It can be seen from the student’s response that most of them agreed that listening habit to English song has a good effect to improve their listening comprehension. English song showed positive effect toward the students’ progress and interest in learning listening. The finding showed, the students agreed that English song is a good source for learning listening. This could be seen in the respond of the students. The students found that every aspect in the song can assist them to have better listening comprehension achievement.
