Abstract:
In anticipating and overcoming the number of occupational accidents and
occupational diseases, the government requires every construction company to
implement an Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3). In
response to this, a study was conducted aimed at understanding and evaluating the
application of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System in the
Grand Palma Pangandaran Hotel construction project.
This study used a field survey method (interview) by distributing questionnaires
to 35 respondents, then the results of the questionnaire were processed with SPSS
23 software and scoring methods .
Based on the results of the study, the total application of SMK3 successfully
implemented the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) in
the Grand Palma Pangandaran Hotel construction project which reached a value of
88.71% classified as category 3, namely the achievement level of 85-100% whose
understanding deserves a certificate and a gold flag. Based on the analysis of its
implementation, the factors that affect the implementation of SMK3 are as
follows: Judging from the data of workers who are obstacles to its application in
the field are age factors that are mostly young so that workers still lack
understanding and experience and respondents still disagree if the company
sanctions workers who do not carry out K3 or do not use Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE), and respondents felt that training on Occupational Safety and
Health from the company had no effect on the application of K3 in the field
