Abstract:
Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is an important aspect of the
construction sector due to the high risk of work accidents that may occur
during the construction process. This study aims to analyze the
implementation and success rate of the Occupational Safety and Health
Management System (OSHMS/SMK3) in the construction project of the
New Bank Mandiri Building in Tasikmalaya City, as well as to identify the
factors that hinder its implementation. This research employs a
qualitative method with a case study approach, in which data were
collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 20
respondents directly involved in the project, including the project manager,
safety officers, site engineer, field supervisors, workers, and the project
supervision team. The data were processed using validity tests (Pearson
correlation), reliability tests (Cronbach's Alpha), and the calculation of the
Respondent Satisfaction Index (RSI). The results show a Cronbach's Alpha
value of 0.854, indicating that the research instrument is reliable with a
high level of consistency. The RSI calculation shows an average value of
81%, categorized as very good, consisting of the work safety variable
(80%, good category), work health variable (81%, very good), and OSHMS
implementation variable (82%, very good). These findings indicate that the
implementation of OSHMS in the project has been carried out very well,
although several aspects still require improvement, namely workplace
cleanliness, the effectiveness of safety signage, and the consistency of
toolbox meeting implementation.
