Abstract:
Hospitalization is a feeling of anxiety experienced by children undergoing treatment due to being placed in an environment different from their home, which may lead them to resist medical procedures. Providing coloring play therapy is beneficial in reducing anxiety in preschool children who are hospitalized. With coloring play therapy, children become calmer and more cooperative during medical procedures.Objective: To determine the effect of coloring play therapy in reducing hospitalization anxiety in preschool children.Method: This study is a literature review using data from databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, and ProQuest, with keywords including hospitalization, anxiety, play therapy, and preschool children.Results: A total of 375 articles were found, with 10 articles meeting the inclusion criteria. The literature review concluded that preschool children undergoing hospitalization showed reduced anxiety after receiving coloring play therapy.Conclusion: Coloring play therapy can reduce hospitalization anxiety in preschool children
