Abstract:
The background of this study is the lack of knowledge of mothers in providing language and speech development stimulation for child development.
The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge about language and speech development stimulation with language development in toddlers in Margacinta Village in 2024.
Type of Research In this study, the researcher used a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were mothers in the toddler age group (1-3 years) in Margacinta Village in April 2024, totaling 73 people. The sampling technique used total sampling so that a sample of 73 people was obtained.
The results of the study showed that: 1) Mothers' knowledge is still lacking in stimulating language and speech development in toddlers. 2) Language development in toddlers is still lacking. 3) There is a significant relationship between mothers' knowledge about language and speech development stimulation with language development in toddlers in Margacinta Village in 2024. This relationship is indicated by a correlation value of 0.616 which is included in the strong category (0.60-0.80). However, there is still a need to increase mothers' knowledge in stimulating language and speech development so that it can improve language development in toddlers.
