This research is reported on the teacher uses steller as an instructional media in
teaching writing narrative text. It also investigated the teacher’s perception
towards steller application in teaching writing narrative text and the students’
perceptions toward steller application in writing narrative text. Steller is a free
storytelling apps which lets the users to create story with combining text, images
or video. In conducting this research the researchers used qualitative research in
which case study was employed to collect the data from participants. The
participants in this research were an English teacher and thirty six of tenth grade
students at SMAN 1 Pangandaran. This research used triangulation data
techniques such as observation, interview and questionnaire. The researcher
analysed the observation data and the first result of interview by transcribed,
categorized with relevant theories and explored it. The researcher analysed the
second, the third, and the fourth results of interview by transcribed, analysed and
related it with relevant theory. The researcher analysed the questionnaire data with
percentage computation and categories. Moreover, there are three results in this
research, the first result shows that there are several steps in teaching writing
narrative text by using steller in the class. Those steps are writing the script of the
story, choose engaging images, open the apps, importing images into steller, copy
the script of the story, link steller to other network and share. The second result
shows that the teacher gave positive perception towards steller apps in teaching
writing narrative text, and also with the third result of students’ perceptions
toward steller application in writing narrative text. In addition, the use of steller is
interesting and motivating students in teaching and learning narrative text. It gave
the students creating to write story with combining text, image or even video.
Finally, the researchers are recommended the future researcher to conduct the
research with similar topic but using another kind of instructional media. |
