ABSTRACT
The community group of blacksmith craftsmen in Dokdak Village is a community group whose majority
livelihood is as blacksmith craftsmen. In its development, this community group has faced many problems
which until now have not been resolved, namely business management that is still traditional, marketing
systems that are still conventional, and the absence of village designs by the blacksmiths of Dokdak Village.
The method used to solve this problem is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) through training, mentoring
and practice steps. The targets for community service activities are blacksmith craftsmen in Dokdak Village,
youth organizations, Tourism Awareness Groups (Pokdarwis), and BUMDes with a total of 50 people. The
results of service activities show that there is a solution to the problems faced by the community, namely the
creation of a financial management guidebook as a step to improve business management. Then, there is
modern marketing through the creation of a website and the Shopee marketplace. Furthermore, the village of
Dokdak blacksmith work was formed. Based on this explanation, it can be concluded that good business
management, modern marketing and the presence of distinctive characteristics of community groups will be
able to maintain the existence of the livelihoods of craftsmen and be able to reduce the level of unemployment
in the village.

ABSTRACT
The difficulty of breaking the chain of poverty in Indonesia is due to the lack of comprehensive handling by
the government. Poor people or underprivileged communities are people whose basic rights are not fulfilled.
There are still underprivileged communities in Gegempalan village, Cikoneng sub-district, Ciamis district by
74%, this is a very high number. The high level of the underprivileged community is caused by the majority
of the community being home industry workers or small and medium industries and farm workers whose
income is uncertain. The service was carried out to the community of the Muhara block, the hamlet of the
Gegempalan village with the non-assessment method with the first stage of deliberation and FGD, the second
stage of socialization and training and the third stage of mentoring. PKM activities can increase the income
of underprivileged communities with the added economic value generated from these activities. However, the
limited market access for productive business groups should be re-assisted so that the community has
sustainable income that can change the condition of the community.
