The objective of this study was aimed to elaborate on how EFL students implement the
QuillBot Paraphrasing Tool in essay writing and their perceptions of the QuillBot Paraphrasing Tool in
essay writing. This study used a descriptive qualitative method, involving 25 students of English
Education Program who used QuillBot Paraphrasing Tool in essay writing. Brief rating scales

use of the QuiillBot Paraphrasing tool in essay writing. Most of students agree that using QuillBot
Paraphrasing Tool makes the process of paraphrasing in writing easier and more efficient. QuillBot
Paraphrasing Tool can help students paraphrase and avoid plagiarism in their writing. While this tool is
powerful, Quillbot Paraphrasing Tool may be a useful tool for EFL students, but it is important to
remember that it should not be overly relied on. Students should continue to concentrate on improving
their paraphrasing skills while using Quillbot Paraphrasing Tool to complement their endeavors and
students should use it wisely. The future researchers are expected to be able to examine more sources
and references related to paraphrasing using QuillBot Paraphrasing Tool using different methods and

Rustandi, Andi
Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the significant difference in persuasive writing
achievement between the students who were treated using internet meme pictures and those who were not
in the eleven grade students at a high school in Cilacap, Central Java. The present study used true
experimental study involving 40 students of XI MIPA 1 and XI MIPA 2. Regarding the data collection, a
pre-test and post-test of writing was administered to both experimental and control group. The data were
processed using Paired Sample t-test and Independent Sample t-test in SPSS version 35. The results of
Paired Sample t-test revealed that there was a significant difference in Persuasive Writing achievement for
both students who were taught using the internet Meme Pictures (experimental) and those who were not
(control). The result from the dependent Sample t-test of the post-test in both experimental and control
groups revealed that the P-value of both of Paired Sample t-test and Independent Sample t-test were lower
than 0.05 (0.000 < .05). This indicated that there was not significant differences between students’
persuasive writing achievement who are taught by internet meme picture (experimental group) and
descriptive text (control group). This means that both media used by experimental and control group have
improved students’ persuasive writing achievement. Thus, internet meme picture is as effective as
descriptive text to improve students’ persuasive writing achievement

Rustandi, Andi; Sugiawardana, Ruli; Said, Iskhak; Buang, Nor Aisah
Indonesian local cultural heritage is a worthwhile asset to develop in the recent era. It is an important industry
generating millions of jobs and billions of dollars in revenue yearly. However, despite the tremendous economic
and socio-cultural benefits, little attention is usually paid to its conservation and to developing innovative big-picture strategies to conserve and promote to be globally familiar. This perspective aims to compile some of the
relevant global needs to explore alternative ways to conserve steps associated with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable
Development. From this perspective, it is conceptualized how emerging artificial intelligence (AI) and digital
socio-technological models of conservation based on local culture “Batik Eco-print” through digital storytelling
can represent an alternative transformative solution by going beyond the current global communication and
technical limitations in the heritage conservation community, while also providing digital promotion to
conservation practitioners, which can truly help the conservation process as the way promote local culture to be
globally acknowledged. This article employed a qualitative research approach implementing a descriptive with a
deductive research design. One of the results showed that social workers use digital media technologies that
reflected the consistency of the social workers with the literature on social media engagement more generally.
Another result showed that participants believed that their understanding of digital technology and digital
storytelling has the potential to reduce communication barriers in professional contexts.
